Copies of all Stop Press Newsletters are available here

Quinton Parish Council uses the Stop Press newsletter to publicise any events in the village in which it is involved or is promoting and to pass on information. The Clerk posted the following.

Chicken Farm

I have noticed that there has been comments about the smell again recently. I would like to remind residents that it is important that these events are reported to the environmental services team at West Northants Council, they will act if necessary. If they have enough notice they will also visit the area.

Episodes can be reported by email to:

Or call 0300 0126 7000

New Council Website

The council has a new Parish Council Website. If there is something you would like to see on a regular basis on the site, please let the clerk know. Some new features you will see are regular photo updates, Bus Service timetables, Council Working Party updates and much more. If anyone has any photographs they would like displayed in the "Slide Show" ( I mean village photo's) please let me know.

Bus Service

A new timetable is available. If anyone would like a copy, please contact the Clerk.

Wootton Road / Washbrook Lane Roadworks

The roadworks has been temporarily suspended; they will begin again on Washbrook Lane in about 3-4 weeks' time with a hopeful end to them at the end of July.

New Parish Councillor

The Parish Council co-opted and welcomes Louise Bromfield to the council at the meeting held on 18 May.

Inconsiderate Parking

There have been several instances of inconsiderate parking recently and I would kindly remind residents that blocking the pavements can cause difficulty for those with pushchairs, mobility scooters etc. so please think twice about parking on the pavements. The local PCSO has visited the village and will continue to do so over the coming weeks.

Queens 70th Anniversary in 2022

Next year the Queen will celebrate her 70th Anniversary and council has agreed that we should celebrate this with an event in the village. They are looking for ideas as to what we would like to do as a community. If anyone has any ideas, please contact the Clerk. All ideas will be discussed at future council meetings.

Village Meeting

As the Corona virus restrictions are still in place now, there will not be a face to face Village meeting again this year, however if anyone would like to have a virtual meeting this can be arranged. I will be putting together an info package for the next issue of Stop Press.

The restriction will hopefully be lifted so that a meeting could be held after the 21 June 2021.

Next Council Meeting

Next council meeting 20 July 2021, this will be a face to face meeting in the Village Hall starting at 7pm. As there will still be Covid restrictions in place it is important that anyone wishing to attend advises the Clerk so that we do not have too many attendees. Please wear a mask and remember the 2m distance rule.

If you have any items, you wish to be discussed at the meeting please let me know.

Stay safe.
